Our History

In the 1950s, Blokrete Limited began by producing hollow concrete blocks at its own factory.

This was done in collaboration with Blokrete in the UK. What started as a simple business, evolved over time, due to several factors.

Initially, the construction boom in Malta during the 1960s surged following World War II and escalated further after Malta gained independence in 1964. Additionally, the burgeoning needs of the construction sector have heightened demand for our services. The recent census data underscores this trend: in 1967, there were 87,000 dwellings in Malta, whereas today there are nearly 300,000. Furthermore, anticipated future demands from the industry underscore its growing significance and indispensability.
